Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is on it's way. In Finland we have always celebrated it as a day for friends, so for me it is more that than a day for lovers. During this one day in London all the restaurants put their prices up, shops are full of hear-shaped junk, and flower delivery companies are busy as ever.

Today my colleague had a massive tantrum at work, because she thought that her boyfriend had forgotten their traditional flower delivery. She called him 100 times and was wondering what will happen to their relationship after this tragedy. Luckily after 3pm a delivery guy brought in a massive delivery with 24 roses and my colleague was on top of the world.

I don't really get this kind of celebrations when you have to have fun, or be super romantic just because you have to. Don't you think that the real romance lies on days when you get home from work and a nice bunch of flowers is waiting on a table as a surprise, or your partner has suddenly just cooked a lovely dinner just for you. It's nice that people are reminded to be romantic, but I'm definitely more into this romance of normal lives.

Even after all this, I still ended up getting these absolutely cutest cupcakes from my colleague's aunts bakery. Who can resist these, especially when they are home-made and fresh!

Happy Valentine's Day!
